Adam serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board of Driehaus Capital Management, a Chicago based registered investment adviser providing investment management services to mutual funds and institutional investors. In this capacity, Adam leads an independent board that advises the founder and senior management on a range of enterprise wide issues such as strategic planning, new product development, human capital development and succession planning, operational excellence and cultural dynamics.

Adam also currently serves as the Chair of the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law Board, leading the Board and its Executive Committee in advising the Dean and helping to define, and assisting in the implementation of, the Law School's strategic planning initiatives.

Adam also serves on the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and Audit Committee, as well as the Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation Board. He has also served on the Investment Committee of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

As Senior Managing Director/Chief Legal Officer of Citadel LLC until his retirement after 18 years in February 2017, Adam was responsible for overseeing Citadel's global Legal, Compliance, Transaction Management, Surveillance and Regulatory Affairs functions. He was also a member of Citadel's Portfolio Committee.

Adam served for a number of years on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Board of the Chamber's Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness. He also served two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Futures Association and was a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Global Markets Advisory Committee, The Financial Markets Working Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and The Buyside General Counsel Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Since its founding, Adam also participated on the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation, an independent, bipartisan policy task force.

Adam also served for a number of years on the Board of Directors of the Managed Funds Association (the alternative investment industry's trade association), and served two terms as its Chairman, leading the organization's efforts to enhance its impact in Congressional legislative and Federal agency policy matters affecting the alternative investments industry.

Adam has testified on legislative, regulatory and policy matters before the Senate Banking and Senate Agriculture Committees, the House of Lords and the European Central Banking Supervision Committee.

Prior to joining Citadel in 1999, he was a partner with the Chicago law firm of Katten Muchin & Zavis (now known as Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP) where he practiced for 12 years. During his time with KMZ, he represented domestic and international banks, brokerage firms and money managers, and specialized in global financial services and capital markets issues.

Adam received a BA in political science with distinction and High Honors from the University of Michigan and a JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
